Ambassadors visited Carriage House Bed & Breakfast today to celebrate their 30 year anniversary, which just so happens to also be owners Ray & Dorothy’s wedding anniversary.
30 years ago today they had their first guest, brought in from the College and they have been welcoming people to the 1895 home ever since. Dorothy shared the work they have done since first opening including a had painted ceiling repair to adding bathrooms to nearly every guest room. Upstairs the home has 5 bedrooms with individual bathrooms located within the room. The 6th bedroom has its own bathroom but is accessed via the shared guest space upstairs. Dorothy expressed only renting that room when the guest has agreed to being comfortable with the restroom accommodations. Guests also have access to a keurig machine and fridge in the upstairs shared space. Each guest room has been named after the couples favorite places within the British Isles.
The historic home has hosted a variety of events from luncheons to weddings and Dorothy said those are some of her favorite memories of the home as well as enjoying breakfast with the guests each morning. House guests are provided a homemade breakfast usually to include fruit, freshly baked muffins, sausage and an egg dish. Dorothy will make something new and special if guests are staying for a longer period.
